A Photographer Captures Family Portraits That Show How Diverse and Similar We All Are

Whether they are medium-sized, large, single-parent, or multicultural, all families have one thing in common: they provide a sense of belonging and make us who we are. In a series of family portraits, New York-based photographer Michele Crowe captures the essence of what family is, in all its shapes and forms. In their words: ’’This project shows how diverse a nuclear family can be and how beautiful that is. It explores the differences and similarities in everyday family life around the world.’’

We at Bright Side hope that these portraits will make you appreciate the uniqueness of your family even more.

As Michele beautifully sums it up, ’’Family is a support system, and that support system is the most important thing in the world; it should not be judged or limited. Families can be big or small, blood-related or not, same-sex oriented or not, and of course composed of similar or wildly different cultural backgrounds. If you’re lucky, you truly understand that love has no boundaries.’’
